 Cupping in London:
In Camberwell SE5, Canary Wharf E14, Bethnal Green E2 & Hoxton N1

Cupping is a treatment that stimulates blood flow and draws out toxins.

Although cupping was developed thousands of years ago the original philosophy remains the same, but the techniques have been brought into the 21st century.

One way to imagine cupping is that it is the inverse of a massage. Instead of applying pressure to muscles, the suction uses pressure to pull skin, tissue and muscles upwards.

Many athletes use cupping alongside acupuncture to aid recovery from sports injuries. This year at the 2016 Olympics it has been noted that Michael Phelps has purple marks on his shoulders from cupping. Michael Phelps is not the only member of team USA to use cupping to ensure peak performance.

Cupping can cause skin disclouration that looks like a bruise, especially if there is an injury or energetic blockage under the area cupped. The discolouration can last from a couple of days to over a week, but rarely is there pain.
